US Healthcare

I’m not significantly affected by the poor state of the healthcare system in the US (thanks to my work insurance), but I know that many are and it makes me mad.  We need to make drastic changes in the way healthcare is managed in this country.  The healthcare providers have little incentive to curb costs and laws are not protecting doctors enough to keep their insurance rates at a reasonable level.  Our government allows companies to bear the burden of the rising personal healthcare insurance costs while insurance companies have little incentive to reduce their rates as they try to keep up with rising healthcare costs.  There are many companies that cannot help their employees with these costs and many people are without health coverage because of this and the steep cost to insure as an individual.  It’s totally ridiculous that we as a country cannot control this situation and ensure its citizens reasonable access to affordable healthcare.  Agree/disagree?  Solutions?  Know of legislation in process that might help fix some of the problems?
